Ore 1

This examination evaluates your clinical proficiency and dental knowledge, especially if your qualifications from abroad are not recognized in the UK. You are expected to perform at a level equivalent to or better than recent graduates from UK dental schools.

Part A: ORE II OSCE Course

  • Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) – Including interactions with standardized patients, written assessments, and clinical skills evaluation.
  • Handling Medical Emergencies in Community Dentistry.
  • Dental Treatment and Planning – Comprehensive coverage of treatment planning processes and strategies.

Part B: ORE II Manikin Course

  • Comprehensive Manikin Exercises – Covering Class I, II, III, IV, V, and VI restorations.
  • Practical Skills – Hands-on training in Amalgam Restoration, Full Gold Crown Preparation, Labial Veneer Application, Impression Taking Techniques, and Temporary Crown Fabrication.
  • Prosthodontics – Instruction on Procaine Fused to Metal (PFM) Restoration, Rest Seat Preparation, and Lab Coral procedures.
  • Endodontics – Root Canal Exercises to refine your endodontic skills.

  • Mastery of OSCEs: Prepare participants to perform and approach Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), including skilled, written, and actor-based scenarios, as required in the ORE 2 exam.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completing this ORE part 2 course, learners will achieve the following competencies:

  • dentify Medical Emergencies: Gain the ability to recognize medical emergencies commonly encountered in primary care dental settings.
  • Implement Effective Emergency Responses: Learn how to initiate appropriate emergency responses, including the management of conditions such as anaphylaxis, adrenal insufficiency, acute asthma, choking in children, epileptic seizures, angina attacks, hypoglycemia and more.
  • Proficiency in Dental Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in essential dental skills, including surveying, rubber dam placement, x-ray positioning, and tooth splitting.
  • Dental Treatment Planning: Develop the skills required to formulate comprehensive dental treatment plans for common dental conditions.
  • Hands-on Manikin Procedures: Gain practical experience in performing various dental procedures on simulated teeth mounted on a manikin. This includes exercises I to VI, encompassing tasks like amalgam restoration, impression-taking, temporary crown fabrication, labial veneer application, and root canal treatment (RCT).
